Despite the occupation's restrictions, 20,000 worshipers performed Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa

Thousands of worshipers were able to perform Friday prayers inside the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the occupation’s measures at the mosque’s gates.

The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem said that about 20,000 worshipers performed Friday prayers today in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the heavy occupation restrictions on the entry of worshipers.

For the 21st week in a row, the occupation forces imposed strict military measures at the gates of the Old City and the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as the occupation strengthened the presence of its forces at the gates of the Old City, the roads and streets leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and at its external gates.

Hundreds of young men performed Friday prayers in the roads, streets and neighborhoods surrounding Al-Aqsa Mosque, after they were prevented from reaching the mosque.

Today, Friday, the Israeli occupation forces set up dozens of checkpoints at the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem, and imposed severe restrictions on citizens’ entry into the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Sanad News Agency correspondent reported that the occupation forces imposed the siege on the Old City of Jerusalem and began arresting those arriving to the town and Al-Aqsa, and checked their identities.

She pointed out that the occupation forces prevented young men from passing through the checkpoints, while allowing the elderly and some women to pass through them and reach Al-Aqsa.

The occupation forces beat a young man and a woman while they were heading to Al-Aqsa Mosque near Lions’ Gate, while they were trying to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque.
