He has 20,000 member who thinks he is the closest thing to God, how brainwashed are we.

It’s a good thing this man is a Christian and therefore can follow the teachings of Jesus and ardently support the poor? Maybe not.
Pastor John Hagee of the Cornerstone Church recently delivered a blistering speech decrying the evils of welfare dependency. Hagee prefaced his demagoguery by saying that while he supports the elderly and infirm being on welfare, he has no tolerance for loafers. People coasting on welfare, that is, not the shoes–though he probably hates those too.
Referring to 2 Thessalonians 3:10 “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” He insists that such people as are found gaming the system must get off the proverbial couch and work. (GreenvilleGazette)
Firstly, nobody just coasts on welfare and getting General Assistance is virtually impossible to achieve thanks to right-wing governors. Secondly, welfare comes with a work requirement as stipulated by the 1996 welfare reforms. Of course Captain Capitalist Mitt Romney and his little privatization boy wonder Paul Ryan cynically ran attack ads, which falsely claimed theObama administration would distribute welfare checks without requiring recipients to look for work. They thought Obama was driving in a low-rider and throwing out cash in the ghetto or something, but that simply wasn’t the case.
Thirdly, the sectors that have thrived the most in the wake of the economic abortion of 2008 are those producing low-wage jobs, thus making it harder for people to make a living. Obviously people need to and SHOULD work, but they also need to be able to rise up like their parents and grandparents could do while working labor jobs. But a we all painfully know, that simply isn’t the case thanks to years upon years of economic policies that favored the top one percent.
In short, Hagee might want to consider getting an actual job and paying taxes, as opposed to living off the dole while preaching his stupid hatred under the guise of a church.
