The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said that the Nazi regime started killing the prisoner Abu Diak before he was diagnosed with cancer, which resulted from a mistake and deliberate medical negligence, since 2015 he underwent a medical error after undergoing surgery in the Zionist hospital “Soroka”, where part of his intestine was removed As a result of his frequent transport through the so-called “Al-Bosta” vehicle, which represents another journey of torment, prisoners were poisoned in his body and had kidney and pulmonary failure.

Abu Diak also underwent three surgeries, and remained under the influence of anesthetic for a month connected to artificial respirators, until he was later diagnosed with cancer.

The Prisoners Club confirmed that in all attempts to release him, the Nazi regime refused to do so despite his certainty that he had reached the final stage of the disease. The date of the second of December next to consider the issue of his early release.

The Prisoners Club held the Nazi occupation authorities fully responsible for the killing of the prisoner Abu Diak through the systematic policies of torture, including the policy of medical negligence, which uses the right to treatment as a tool to abuse the prisoner.

She explained that the Nazi occupation authorities are implementing this through many procedures, including: “Depriving the prisoner of treatment or procrastination in providing it, and the late detection of the disease, because of the delay in conducting medical examinations and transportation to hospitals, there are dozens of prisoners have been waiting for years for surgery for them, some of them He reached a stage where it is difficult to provide treatment, except for the conditions of families that do not meet the minimum health conditions of prisoners, which caused hundreds of prisoners to suffer from various diseases.

His last message from the detainee was: “To every conscience, I live in my last hours and days. I want to be in my last days and hours beside my mother and my loved ones. I want to die in the arms of her. Hands and feet, and in front of a jailer who loves death and feeds, and delights in our pain and suffering. “

Abu Dayak, from Silat Al-Dahr village in Jenin governorate, was arrested on 17 July 2002 on charges of resisting the occupation. He was sentenced to life imprisonment three times and (30) years. He has another brother, Samer Abu Dayak. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, where he accompanied him throughout his illness in the so-called “Ramla clinic” detention facility for his care.

Abu Diak has five brothers, including his brother Samer, in addition to his parents who were deprived of his farewell today.

It is noteworthy that Abu Diak is the second prisoner killed by the occupation slowly due to medical negligence in recent months, preceded by the prisoner Bassam Sayeh, who rose on September 8, 2019, bringing the number of martyrs of the National Movement captive since 1967, to 222 martyrs, Among them (67) prisoners were killed through the policy of deliberate medical negligence.

This brings the number of martyrs killed by the occupation since the beginning of this year, five martyrs, namely: “Fares Baroud, Omar Awni Younis, and the supporters of Taqatqa, Bassam Sayeh in addition to Sami Abu Diak.”
