DearI,

Earth Day turns 40 today.

Sign the Declaration
Tell Congress we’re still standing up for the planet.

take action

Forty years ago today, 20 million Americans took to the streets as part of the first Earth Day and launched the modern environmental movement.
That day in 1970 helped drive Congress to pass major regulations that remain the backbone of U.S. environmental law — the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act and more.
Four decades later, we need another groundswell of support to push lawmakers to address the biggest challenge now facing the Earth and humanity: climate change.
Congress is debating major legislation right now. But the bill has stalled in the Senate and needs a big, public push if it’s going to help solve the climate crisis.
So TrueMajority members are teaming up with Earth Day Network to plan a massive rally on the National Mall in addition to thousands of local events all over the world that support action on climate change.
You can help! Click here to tell Congress to pass a fair, ambitious and comprehensive climate bill.

There will also be speeches and commitments from Dr. James Hansen, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, James Cameron, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka and Olympic gold medalist Billy Demong.
It’s a phenomenal chance to channel our concern about the environment into action. So don’t delay; click here to sign the petition and find out more. Together, we’ll give Earth Day the 40th birthday present it really needs: a solution to the global climate crisis.
