RAMALLAH: The Prisoners’ and Editors’ Affairs Authority warned on Wednesday of the deteriorating health situation of the elderly prisoner Muwaffaq ‘Arouq, a resident of Jaffa town in the occupied city of Nazareth.
The body explained that the prisoner ‘veins (76 years), suffers from very poor health conditions, and many chronic diseases, including cancer in the liver and stomach, and said that the management of the prison “Negev” procrastination in providing chemotherapy to the prisoner.
A report of the Commission monitored two cases of prisoners in Al-Damoun detention center, prisoner Amal Taqatqa (25 years), from Beit Fajjar town, Bethlehem District, who was hit by three bullets throughout her body during her detention in 2014.
The report stressed that the prisoner Taqatqa suffers from swelling and severe pain in her injured leg, and her health is getting worse, explaining that she needs to provide treatment and presented to a special orthopedic doctor.
Rawan Samhan, 26, from Al-Dhahiriya town in Hebron, complains of anemia due to headaches and persistent dizziness and needs medical attention.
At the end of its report, the Commission noted that monitoring the health status of sick and wounded prisoners incarcerated in the various prisons of the occupation, form and almost non-existent, and receives the daily statements through lawyers
