NOVANEWS
During recent weeks there has been some serious acknowledgements and international pressure to combat the extreme brutality and destruction occurring in Syria and Iraq from the newly formed Islamic State (IS). After years of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) turning a blind eye towards this growing global threat and down playing their dangerous extremism in the Middle- East they are now forced to act.
The UNSC recently recognized the Islamic state as a serious threat to the international community after many months of pressures from people all over the world. Last week the UNSC approved emergency resolutions condemning the actions of the IS and black listed 6 high ranking individuals associate with the IS and Al-Nusra terrorist organizations which surprised many that they finally began to take a stance at combating terrorism.
The UNSC went so far as to freeze known terrorists assets, stop international travel, and put on arms embargos. The United Nations US Ambassador Samatha Powers stated that the IS was based on a “violent extremist ideology” that has “no shame”. Seeing the international community speak up and condemn the IS and other terrorist organization groups is a much needed break through as they are finally acknowledging that they have a problem here.
It appears now too that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is realizing that they better too re-vamp their international image and association with these terrorism fractions. It has been really no secret that the KSA has been arming, funding, and supporting these terrorists. Recently, the KSA Ambassador in London issued a press release announcing they do not support or fund the Islamic State.
This press release written by its Ambassador Mohammed bin Nawaf Al Saud is full of incongruencies and deception as the entire world is very aware who are the biggest supporters of the IS and terrorism in the Arab world is none other than the KSA.
The mere fact that their Ambassador actually took the time to write this during the same time frame the UNSC voted to finally take action against these foreign sponsored terrorist organizations because after all the brutality from the IS in Iraq is unfathomable. This is not a coincidence. This was a deliberate and desperate attempt to “blow the smoke” in another direction. A couple years ago into the Syrian war the international community may have bought this feeble attempt at cover up or minimization of involvement but now nothing the KSA, Israel, and the US does is covert and they all have been caught red handed funding, training, supporting, and creating the IS. The problem is that they all can no longer control their rabid wahabbis they have created.
They are so desperate and need a “Plan B” otherwise known as deflect attention from themselves and as quickly as possible. Hence the sudden wakeup call from the UNSC and the letter from KSA Ambassador desperately trying to distance themselves from the atrocities and blood on their hands. If this does not represent pure hypocrisy and deflection then I do not know what more proof does one need.
