Zio-Nazi forces continue systematic attacks against Palestinian civilians and property in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt)

  • ·       Israeli warplanes launched 9 airstrikes on civilian targets and armed groups’ training sites in the Gaza Strip.
  • ·       3 workshops in the northern Gaza Strip sustained extensive damage.

–       NIS 150,000 and 200 grams of jewellery were seized from a house in Ethna village, west of Hebron.

–       Israeli forces established dozens of checkpoints in the West Bank.
–       At least 5 Palestinian civilians, including a child, were arrested at checkpoints in the West Bank.

  • ·       Israeli navy forces continued targeting Palestinian fishermen in the sea.

–       Israeli navy forces confiscated a boat and fishing nets and opened fire at fishing boats in the sea.

  • ·       Israel continued efforts to create Jewish majority in the occupied East Jerusalem.

–       3 houses belonging to Bedouin families in al-Aizariya village, east of the city, were demolished.

  • ·       Israeli forces continued to support settlement activities in the West Bank and Israeli settlers continued to attack Palestinian civilians and property.

–       A barrack in the eastern Bart’a village in Jenin was demolished.
–       Settlers cut off 650 grape seedlings in al-Khader village in Bethlehem.
–       Windshield of a vehicle belonging to a journalist was smashed near “Beit Eil” settlement, north of Ramallah.
Summary
Israeli violations of international law and international humanitarian law in the oPt continued during the reporting period (03 – 09 April 2014).
Shooting:
During the reporting period, Israeli forces wounded 14 Palestinian civilians, including 3 children and a journalist, in the West Bank. In the Gaza Strip, Israeli warplanes launched 9 airstrikes at civilian targets and armed groups’ training sites in different areas, while Israeli forces committed 4 shooting incidents along the border fence between Israel and the Gaza Strip. In addition, Israeli navy forces launched 8 attacks against Palestinian fishing boats in the sea.
In the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces escalated their attacks. They launched 9 airstrikes in different areas, 2 shooting incidents along the border fence and 8 attacks against Palestinian fishing boats.
On 04 and 05 April 2014, Israeli warplanes launched 9 airstrikes against civilian targets and armed groups’ training sites throughout the Gaza Strip. As a result, material damage was reported and 2 civilians, including a baby, were wounded.
On 05, 06 and 07 April 2014, Israeli forces stationed along the border fence between Israel and the Gaza Strip opened fire at open areas and stone collectors, but no casualties were reported.
In the context of targeting Palestinian fishermen in the sea, Israeli navy forces opened fire 8 times at Palestinian fishing boats on 03, 05, 06, 07 and 08 April 2014, but no casualties were reported. However, a fishing boat and fishing nets were confiscated.
In the West Bank, 12 Palestinian civilians, including 2 children and a journalist, were wounded during 2 demonstrations organized on 04 April 2014 in the vicinity of Ofer detention facility, southwest of Ramallah, and at the western entrance of Selwad village, northeast of the city.
Furthermore, Israeli forces used excessive force against peaceful demonstrations organised by Palestinian civilians, international and Israeli human rights defenders in protest at the construction of the annexation wall and settlement activities in the West Bank. As a result, dozens of civilians suffered tear gas inhalation and others sustained bruises as they were beaten up by Israeli soldiers.
On 06 April 2014, a 17-year-old male was hit by a gas canister to the face when Israeli forces moved into ‘Ayda refugee camp, north of Bethlehem.
On the same day, a Palestinian civilian sustained a bullet wound after he threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli military vehicle in Hawwara village, south of Nablus, as Israeli soldiers opened fire at him.
