IMAGES OF POLITICAL PRISONER REVEAL MARKS OF TORTURE BY NAZI OCCUPATION

New images show the effect of torture by Nazi Gestapo on political prisoner Muhammad Walid Hanatsheh(b. 1969), who has been imprisoned by Nazi occupation since October 3rd 2019.

Hanatsheh’s wife didn’t at first recognize him after seeing him at the Ofer Nazi Camp on the illegally Nazi occupied West Bank after he had went through three periods of Gestapo interrogation and torture, the first one alone lasting 12 days with up to 23 hours of interrogation each day. “I feel like I died three times” was his comment to his wife after she finally recognized him based on his voice.
During those interrogations he was beaten until he fell unconscious, with his lawyer saying that five different methods of torture was used on him.

Hanatsheh, a veteran activist imprisoned for years without trial on several occasions since 2002, was arrested as part of the second wave of mass arrests of members of left-wing Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine following a bomb explosion targeting illegal Nazi Jewish settlers on the occupied West Bank on August 23rd 2019.
Zionist Eitan Shnerb had taken his two children, 19-year-old son Dvir and 17-year-old daughter Rina, hiking in an area on which Palestinians have been denied access. A bomb exploded on the path to a spring near the village of Ras Karkar and the illegal Nazi colony of Dolev, and the daughter suffered fatal injuries while the son suffered serious and the father light injuries.

On September 25th Nazi Gestapo arrested Samer Mina Salim Arbeed(44), Qassem Abdul-Karim Shibli(25), Yazan Hussein Mijmas(25) and Nizam Sami Awlad Mohammad(21), with Hanatsheh taken from his home in the Attira neighbourhood of the city of Ramallah on October 3rd.
The arrest of his daughter Mays, a student in the Birzeit University, was announced on October 11th. She was reported freed on October 14th.

Samer Arbeed, who Nazi regime claims would have been ‘leader of a cell’ behind the bomb, ended up in hospital in critical condition after days of torture by Nazi Gestapo, staying in intensive care for 45 days, but the fate of the other people has been given far less attention. Hopefully these images showing the extent of torture on Hanatsheh will help to change that.

Up to 50 people have been arrested by Nazi occupation, which (as usually) considers the suspects guilty – and seems to see the incident in August as a convenient excuse to enact a mass incarceration of PFLP members.
The homes of two prisoners, Hanatsheh and Yazan Mghamas (perhaps same as Yazan Mijmas above) have already been scheduled to be destroyed as a collective punishment by the Nazi regime, with their families handed out demolition notices on January 9th, although show trials that will end up in pre-determined convictions have not yet even started.
