A senior Iranian cleric warns certain regional states that the havoc they have wreaked on Syria will backfire on them, saying the Arab nation is paying the price of standing up to Israel.

“The disaster you have caused in Syria upon the order of certain parties will backfire on you,” Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi said, addressing certain regional governments and states neighboring Syria.
He noted that NATO has created a crisis in Syria under the direct supervision of the US.

Seddiqi added that certain regional countries encourage the youth to commit fratricide and to kill other Muslims instead of rising against the Zionists and global arrogance which have plundered the possessions of Muslims.

The Iranian cleric said some, who claim to be Muslims and uphold Islamic values, are causing conflict among Muslims instead of using the great capacity of Islam to resolve global problems.
Seddiqi stated that the Syrian nation is paying for years of standing up to the fake and usurping Zionist regime of Israel.
“The Israeli regime views Syria as on obstacle on its path and wants to remove this obstacle,” he added.
Syria has been the scene of unrest since March 2011 and many people, including large numbers of army and security personnel, have been killed in the turmoil.
