I enclose the leaflet for the Birmingham Stop the War Coalition public meeting on Drone Wars. The British media has been giving massive coverage to the brutal attack on the Malala, the Pakistani young woman who campaigned for girls’ education, but almost completely ignores the serious injuries and deaths suffered by many women and children as a result of British and American drone attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Birmingham StWC has organised a major public meeting entitled “Oppose the Drone Wars” at 7 pm Thursday 31st January The Hubb, (next to Aldi) Stratford Road Sparkbrook with Chris Coles Drone Wars UK (a noted expert on drones), Yvonne Ridley who has campaigned against drones in Pakistan and Guy Smallman photojournalist who has covered many of the crimes of US/UK occupation of Afghanistan.
Bham StWC are organising activity in the next week in the Sparkbrook area to promote the meeting. If you want to confirm if the activity is going ahead due to the weather ring Stuart on 0777 156 7496.
