Sources: Shaker Attended Ain el-Hilweh Iftar Along with Wanted Militants

Singer-turned Salafist Fadel Shaker, who has gone into hiding since his involvement in clashes between Islamists and the Lebanese army in June, has appeared at an Iftar at the Ain el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in the South, security sources said. The sources told pan-Arab daily al-Hayat published on Thursday that Shaker is residing at al-Taamir neighborhood of the camp that lies near the southern city of Sidon where the gunbattles took place. He has lately appeared along with several wanted militants from Jund al-Sham at the Iftar. Among the suspects are Haitham al-Shaabi who is wanted by several arrest warrants, the sources said. Last week, similar sources told An Nahar newspaper that Shaker has put his properties up for sale because he needed the money to escape Lebanon.
