Sir Cyril Smith 'Sexually Abused' Teen In Houses Of Parliament

Cyril Smith abused a young victim in the Houses of Parliament, following 18-months ‘grooming’ by the MP, according to a report in the Guardian.
The abuse victim, who said he was 17 and a liberal activist at the time, told the newspaper MPs continue to walk past the room as the assault took place. Smith had allegedly offered to advance his political career.
Earlier this week Greater Manchester Police said it was this “publicly acknowledging that young boys were victims of physical and sexual abuse committed by Smith” in his home town of Rochdale.
Smith, who died in 2010 aged 82, had a close friendship with Jimmy SavileThe Sun has revealed.

The former MP for Rochdale was elected to parliament in 1972 and was dogged by rumours of abuse throughout his career, although charges were never brought.
According to GMP, which has now assumed full responsibility for the case, prosecutors were given evidence about Smith three times – in 1970, February 1998 and March 1999 – and each time missed their chance.
