Larry Sabato at the University of Virginia Center for Politics has called the election in favor of Obama. He’s projecting Obama will get 290 electoral votes. Let’s hope he’s right. Just in case, go vote. Then as soon as you get home, start organizing. Rasmussen will be releasing their latest results later Tuesday morning. As of November 5th they Romney leading by %49 to %48 percent of the popular vote. On the electoral vote side of things, Rasmussen says Obama has 237 to 206 for Romney with 95 votes listed as a toss up. Monmouth has it dead even as of November 5. The Jerusalem Washington New York Times Post has Obama ahead by %3 in the popular vote. Gallup has Romney ahead %49 to %48. We may not know the winner for days and it’ll be interesting to see what happens to votes in states clobbered by Sandy who still have lots of residents without power. On the other hand, if Romney somehow “wins” outright, the above data would strike me as even more interesting than it already is. |
