Marianne wrote: “Last September – on the hottest day ever in Israel, in the middle of a unique sand storm, a translator, a TV cameraman, myself and a mother sat down to make a testimony. Stories don’t come in 5 minutes. The woman had a bag full of papers, documents, decisions, appeals etc. She didn’t want to be seen or named, as her problems continue.
The video is in Hebrew and English. We were all in shock to hear that on the word of a neighbour, their adult daughter was taken into a psychiatric hospital. The nightmare began when police turned up at the door to say they were there to search for dead bodies!!! It was so unbearably hot, and we were all suffering from the heat after a day visiting contact centres. I didn’t know at the time that the welfare can demand guaradianship of the mind and body of an adult! It’s quite something. The mother is fighting to this very day.
