Project Corbyn has failed: what next?

Can the Workers party become the new home that workers in Britain so desperately need?

By: Ranjeet Brar

In this short video, leading communist Dr Ranjeet Brar speaks to the launch meeting of the Workers Party of Britain (WPB) in Birmingham on 1 February 2020.

Briefly outlining the disappointment of many workers at the failure of Jeremy Corbyn‘s leadership of the Labour party to bring about any of the changes his project had seemed to promise, especially when it came to delivering the result of the Brexit referendum.

Ranjeet explains how the Brexit vote was one in the eye for the British establishment, the overwhelming majority of whom had instructed workers to vote remain. Meanwhile, Boris Johnson appears to believe that workers voted Tory because of some special personal attribute of his.

But the truth is that while workers voted for the Conservatives out of disgust at decades of abandonment by Labour, which was capped by Corbyn’s failures of leadership and his catastrophic U-turn on Brexit, they are now looking in vast numbers for a new home.
