Dozens of citizens were injured on Friday night with live ammunition, rubber bullets and suffocated due to tear gas during clashes that broke up in the village.
The follow-up committee in the village said that the Nazi occupation forces raided the village on Friday night in a provocative way and sprayed waste water towards the residential houses, vehicles and the village’s cemetery which led to severe suffocation cases among the locals; accordingly, violent clashes broke out in the village.
Nazi occupation forces used live ammunition and injured three young men in the lower limbs. Afterwards, the forces closed the entrances of the village and prevented young men from entering and only allowed women.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Nazi police closed the entrances of the village under the pretext of looking for young men that were injured while throwing Molotov Cocktails, and prevented anybody from entering or leaving the village. The forces searched vehicles and attempted to assault the residents trying to enter the village from the eastern entrance; note that they were mostly women.
Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of follow-up committee in the village, explained that the forces arrested Mohammad Yousef Dari, Ismat Obeid and Munther Mahmoud under the pretext of assisting injured people to flee the area.
Abu Hummos added that the forces arrested one young man from inside an ambulance and also arrested a paramedic.
Dr. Amin Abu Ghazaleh, head of paramedics in the Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC), explained that 20 Jerusalemites were injured in the village of Esawyeh including injuries with live ammunition as well as injuries with sound grenades and rubber bullets.
Dr. Abu Ghazaleh also explained that the occupation authorities attempted to detain a PRC ambulance while transporting an injured person but the staff prevented them from doing so.
In the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber, the occupation police said that fire was opened towards illegal “Nov Atsion” Nazi Jewish settlement. They checked the area and found remains of bullets and immediately started searching the area near the settlement.
In Silwan, a group of Nazi Jewish settlers threw stones towards the houses of Abu Hadwan family in the neighborhood of Wadi Hilweh.
