No need to say that this battle is directed against the Islamic Republic of Iran and has for allies the Israeli state itself. Mister Abunima- finally- has to bid farewell to his secular allegations and pretensions and join the Saudi anti Syrian , anti Palestinian Wahabi camp which is not a very suitable place for the activist academician he is . But Mister Abunima seems to have grown the habit of meddling in others peoples’ affairs that most idle people- who have lost their cause – do and, after embracing the Zionist Jewish cause of exposing the so called anti-Semitism of artists and intellectuals , there he joins the Wahabi realm of Islamic Fatwas and anti Fatwas defending a dubious sectarian Sheikh who has made himself a reference in religious matters !
What a place for the enlightened academician and activist he pretends to be ! The Dubious sectarian sheikh whom Abunima is defending is none other than Sheikh Mohammad al ‘Arifi who issued the fatwa that permits Muslim Jihadists to rape Syrian women aged fourteen and above to satisfy their incumbent sexual needs .The dubious Sheikh had awoken suddenly to the fact that- for two years now- the poor thugs of the opposition have been either deprived of sexual intercourse- or resorting to illegitimate ways of gratifying their need . And, as the dubious Sheikh thought that this calamity fallen upon the thugs should be settled by way of religious Fatwa, Mister Abunima thought that it was high time for the lofty secular intellectual that he is to get down to earth and join the religious swamp of the mischievous sheikh .

‘Ali Abunima of the Electronic Intifada has made himself heard once more . This time not in order to expose Gilad Atzmon and accusing him of anti-Semitism as if a Palestinian was in the position of accusing an Israeli Jew of such a thing , but in order to protect a so called Salafi Wahabi Sheikh working for Saudi Arabia . From standing against presumed anti-Semitism to taking a Salafi stand and protecting a Wahabi sheikh ‘Ali Abunima has –no doubt- come a long way . Thank you Mister Abunima ! This has cleared our doubt and made our understanding much clearer .
If this stand of defending the Wahabi sheikh proves anything it proves where Mister Abunima positions himself in the ongoing struggle . Of course Mister Abunima does not position himself along with the Palestinian cause as he pretends to, but rather positions himself in the ongoing sectarian struggle pervading both the Arab and Muslim world . This is the real battle Mister Abunima has undertaken after dressing it with Palestinian dressing .

Don’t quote me wrong because Mister Abunima of the Electronic Intifada -in doing this- was purely motivated by his concerns regarding racism and was fearing that the dubious sheikh be targeted by what he calls Islamophobia, and this is how –suddenly- the careless thinker that he is regarding the whole issue of Palestine and Palestinians, turns suddenly-into the great defender of religious stooges . Mister Abunima -with his big heart- could not bear the idea that such an injustice be inflicted on the dubious mischievous Wahabi sheikh while he –himself -seemed to accommodate himself quite well with the plight of the Syrian men and women and children who are falling by hundreds victims of the different fatwas issued from the sheikh and his like that targeted them and permitted their slaughter and killing .
Now, Mister Abunima can stand for justice and fairness in a matter that relates to some Wahabi sheikh , but falls short when the matter relates to Syria and the Syrians .The fact that the fatwa attributed to the infamous Sheikh might come from a fake tweet does not change much the situation , because tweet or no tweet, these fatwas on behalf of infamous sheikhs – among them the vicious al ‘Arifi-are being practiced on the ground all the same and Syrian women are being raped and children and civilian s killed under religious license .
These victims though will not get the treatment enjoyed by their executioner and Abunima will not shed tears over them , the reason is : the agenda Abunima and his like are implementing which uses the Palestinian cause to serve the forces of the Arab status quo and to rally against Iran and the armed Resistance. Why they do this ? They do this to serve Israel and the western establishment . They prefer Israel to Iran and are involved in the conspiracy against Syria to bring down the only Arab state that is supporting the Resistance and defying Israel .
No doubt that Israel can unite adverse forces and bring together opposites which is not in the power of anyone to do ; and this is how Salafi Wahabis and secular intellectuals are brought together in the scheme of sectarian partition and, in order to add a nationalistic flavor to all this, this alliance will take place under the banner of Palestine .
