The Unites States government and several other key member states of the United Nations have spent the past decade waging wars in search of weapons of mass destruction.  Yet at the same time these very same governments and building, testing and even using their own weapons of mass destruction.
This week while a nuclear disarmament meeting is taking place within US borders, the US government will be testing nuclear capable rockets.
Press TV reported that “The United States is planning to test nuclear missiles next week on the same day that heads of states and foreign ministers from around the world are to hold a high-level meeting on nuclear disarmament at the United Nations headquarters in New York.”
“Instead of honoring the significance of these dates and working in good faith to achieve nuclear disarmament, the United States has chosen to schedule two tests of its Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile on September 22 and September 26,” Rick Wayman of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation told the Daily Times.
“We are disappointed that a test launch is scheduled for the same day as the High-Level Meeting on nuclear disarmament at the UN in New York,” Wayman said.
“These missiles are designed to carry nuclear warheads capable of killing thousands of times more people than the chemical weapons used in Syria,” he pointed out.
Really, why would someone possibly want to have enough nuclear weapons to irradiate the earth hundreds of times over to the point of total extinction?
What purpose does that solve?
If the weapons are used there will be a massive loss of live and environmental destruction.
On the other hand if the weapons aren’t used they just sit there and account for a massive waste of taxpayer dollars.  All around, nuclear weapons seem like a loose-loose ordeal.
However, if the United States and their allies have nuclear weapons, then there is no reason that they should be preventing other countries from obtaining them to begin with.  A nuclear treaty where all parties agree to certain terms is a great idea, but the negotiations that are taking place now, and those that have taken place thus far are completely one-sided.
