Israel’s gift to Palestinian women on Woman’s Day

Israel marked International Woman’s Day by murdering one Palestinian woman and kidnapping another one.
Woman’s Day in the Israeli occupied West Bank began with the execution of Fadwa Abu Teir, a mother of five who was on her way to pray at Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. She was 50 years old and a mother of five children, three boys and two girls.

Spokesman for the only democracy claimed to have ordered her to stop and she did not comply. Later, the spokesman alleged she was attempting to stab a heavily armed soldier. Eyewitnesses at the scene said, she did not hear the soldier’s order, she was unarmed, was shot without warning, and was left to bleed to death. Fadwa was executed in cold blood by IOF.
The notion that the soldiers would let her bleed for 45 minutes after shooting in the eye and stomach  without allowing Palestinian medics or doctor comes to her aid is mind boggling and inhumane.
Later on that day, the Israeli occupation army raided the home of Manal Tamimi, a mother of six and nonviolence resistance activist and kidnapped her for her activity against the Separation Wall, supporting BDS (boycott, divestment and sanction), and for calling the  release of human rights activist and attorney Shireen, who was sentenced to four years in prison for her human rights work.
As Manal’s husband, Bilal Tamimi put is succinctly,  ” this is Israel’s gift to Palestinian women on Woman’s Day.”

Ironically, both of those crimes come on the International Woman Day, without any western outrage or condemnation. These crimes run contrary to U.S. laws which bans aid to countries engaged in blatant Human Rights violations, thus, without U.S. aid and silence such crimes would not take place a daily basis.  Sadly, this is the faith of Palestinian women under Israel’s military rule.
Since last October, Israel has killed more than 180 Palestinian as part of the Israeli crackdown on anti Occupation protest and unrest in the West Bank. Defense for Children International confirmed that Israel has killed at least 49 Palestinian children including 17 girls since October 2015.
As long as Israel is not being held accountable, its army will continue to murder Palestinian women and children with immunity.
Israel should be condemned for not showing respect for human rights and rules of the civilized nations, otherwise we will continue to hear tragic stories such as of Fadwa and Manal.
