Referring to the SNC chief’s meeting with the head of Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK, a.k.a. MKO) in Paris, Hezbollah’s leader called the MEK a “defeated enemy”.
Emphasizing the western countries’ role in the Syrian crisis, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised address on Sunday that the US and the West are sending terrorists and Takfiris to Syria to destroy the axis of resistance in the region.
Hezbollah leader noted that the so-called Syrian National Coalition is so desperate that it meets with such defeated enemies as “the Mujahedin-e Khalq.”
Earlier this week, head of the SNC, Ahmad Jarba, met with the MEK ringleader in Paris and called MKO members as “brothers” of the Syrian opposition.
Jarba said the fate of the Syrian people and “revolution” is tied to the fate of “Iranian people and their legitimate representative,” referring to the MKO terrorist group and its political arm, NCRI.
Mujahedin-e Khalq is a terrorist group which, until recently, was on the US State Department list of foreign terrorist organizations. According to a 2004 FBI report, the group advocates “the violent overthrow” of Iranian government and engages in acts of terrorism “as a means of reaching that goal.”
Nasrallah added that the scenario against Syria will backfire on the West as militants are now returning to the countries they came from including those in Europe.
