DUBAI — The McAfee Corporation recently opened a “cyber defense center” that will actively seek and compile information worldwide, utilizing it to stopcyber crime and attacks in the Mid-East region.
According to Gert-Jan Schenk, McAfee EMEA President, “Over the last year it’s one of the highest we’ve seen in the world… With all the geo-political events that clearly drives a lot of cyber crime and cyber warfare activities”.
ArabianBusiness.com reported, “An attack on Aramco infrastructure in Saudi Arabia during the Islamic holiday Eid last year highlighted the region’s increasing risk.
The incident led many companies and institutions to seek greater security intelligence and software, motivating McAfee to establish a base in the region.”[1]
All of this has some questioning the world in which they live as everything is monitored.
