It's time for an investigation!

NOVANEWS

This is an egregious injustice that Obama’s allowed to exist for fear of offending the Israel Lobby… time to call him out!  Let’s not forget the 34 Americans killed & 171 wounded when Israel attacked the USS Liberty in ’67 either… that issue’s still open.

Three years ago today, in international waters, the Israeli navy intercepted a flotilla of ships attempting to deliver humanitarian goods to the Gaza Strip and to break Israel’s illegal blockade.
Israeli commandos stormed the ships and killed eight Turkish citizens and 18-year-old U.S. citizen Furkan Doğan aboard the Mavi Marmara.
It’s time for an investigation!
The U.N. Human Rights Council chillingly documented Israel’s “extra-legal, arbitrary and summary execution” of Furkan, who was:
“filming with a small video camera when he was first hit with live fire. It appears that he was lying on the deck in a conscious, or semi-conscious, state for some time. In total Furkan received five bullet wounds . . . All of the entry wounds were on the back of his body, except for the face wound which entered to the right of his nose. According to forensic analysis, tattooing around the wound in his face indicates that the shot was delivered at point blank range.[1]
But instead of investigating Furkan’s killing and holding Israel accountable, the Obama administration deferred to Israel’s investigation, which predictably exonerated all of the Israeli soldiers involved and failed to provide any explanation for Furkan’s killing. Disturbingly, the Obama administration even engaged in diplomatic efforts to obstruct attempts to obtain international accountability for the attack, according to documents obtained by the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.[2]
Earlier this month, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan brought Prof. Ahmet Doğan — Furkan’s father — on an official visit to Washington.[3]
During the visit, Prof. Doğan met with Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss his request for the United States to investigate Furkan’s killing and to deliver a letter to President Obama to this effect.[4]
Let’s help Prof. Doğan by showing him that thousands of Americans agree the United States should investigate his son’s killing and hold Israel accountable.
We’re launching this petition today with CCR, the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.  We hope to deliver at least 20,000 signatures to the Obama administration in June.
Make sure yours is one of them by signing the petition right now.
