Not as predicted by many, the Palestinian intifada still happens until now. Many people think the uprising just a threat; however all were refuted by the facts on the ground. The Palestinians are getting stronger to fight against the Israeli occupation.
The emergence of the Intifada movement cannot be separated from a series of painful events of the Palestinians. Among others is the occupation by illegal Israeli settlers on the Palestinian lands and Judaization projects against Al-Quds.
The condition is aggravated by repeated negotiations with Israel which always ends with their betrayals. These series of events led to the outbreak of the intifada which was then known as the Al-Quds Intifada.
This third Intifada centered in the occupied city of Al-Quds by performing a series of resistance. Besides Al-Quds, this action also spread to the Palestinian territories 1948 that had been occupied by the Zionist Israel.
Perhaps many are asking, why is Al-Quds used as the heart of the Intifada? The answer is because it becomes the capital of Palestine and there is the holy mosque of Al-Aqsa inside.
The mosque, which became the first Qibla of Muslims often become the object of Israeli desecration. They bring in the illegal Jewish settlers or Israeli ministers to storm Al-Aqsa by performing Talmudic rituals in it. And they got heavy escort by Israeli police.
The love, affection and devotion of Palestinian people to Al-Quds then made them willing to sacrifice everything, in order to save Masjid Al-Aqsa which essentially is for all Muslims in the world.
They who inflame this Intifada generally are the youth. To obscure this movement, Israeli occupation forces constantly hunting them through the various arrests. The invaders know very well that the Palestinian youth is the “charcoal” of the flames of the intifada.
The courage of the Palestinian youth then demanded Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu enacting a new law on revocation of their identity as a resident in Al-Quds. Along with tens of thousands of other Al-Quds residents, they will be transferred to the outside of the walls of Al-Quds and revoked its citizenship. Israeli illegal authorities also have planned to create a special court to sentence Palestinians.
New generation
Unfortunately Netanyahu along with other officials forget that the intifada this time driven by the second and the third generation of Palestinian victims of the Israeli occupation. They are children who were born after the Oslo agreement was signed. Born and grown up under occupation. They have been strong to face the oppression and used to fight alone. This new generation of Palestinians has the high morale that will not stop until their goal is reached.
Until now thousands of Palestinians recorded as victims in the clashes against the Israeli occupation. And dozens more martyred, including women and children. The question is; where is the protection of the international community and human rights organizations over the humanitarian tragedy in Palestine?
The international community does not seem fair in treating the Palestinians. In this case the United Nations looks more swiftly take action against conflicts in other countries, but it is not in Palestine. UN looks slow and tend to let Israel continue its crimes against the Palestinian people.
The international community seemed indoctrinated with the understanding that the Palestinian conflict is a conflict caused by a classical problem thus concluded that this conflict has no solution and allowed to happen. Surprisingly, when the Palestinian people demand their rights to independent Palestinian land, the international community seemed to reject and debate it.
Besides the classical conflict doctrine, the international community seemed to put the Palestinian issue only for Arab countries and Muslims alone, to have full responsibility for resolving this conflict. So they handed over the Palestinian issue to the Arabs and other Muslim countries, fate and dreams of the Palestinian people submitted to them.
However, irrespective of the above estimation, it cannot be denied that the Arabs and Muslims in particular are in the frontline in resolving the Palestinian issue. Because of Palestine is part of the Muslims. Defending Palestine is tantamount to defend the rights of Muslims. The Muslims should end the suffering of the Palestinian people, so that no more bloodshed and violence on Palestinian land.
The next question leads to factions in Palestine, where is their existence? Have they see the good moments of this intifada and unify the lineup? If so, who is the intifada leader today? Unfortunately, the question was unanswered yet until now. Too bad if they disunity, so it is unable to give good resistance against the invaders.
