Aljazeera Viewers Deplore Saudi Aggression on Yemen, Indifference towards Palestine
The critics of Saudi Arabia’s aggression against Yemen showed their wrath over Riyadh and the Saudi-led coalition members in their comments underneath a news report of the website of the Qatari-based TV channel Aljazeera.
A majority of readers strongly objected to the aggression of Saudi Arabia and its allies against Yemen and their indifference to the Palestinian cause and people.
A comment read where were the Saudi jets when Israel was bombing Palestine day and night.
Another one said shame on Wahhabists; shame on the old Saudi kings and Zionists, shame on all enemies of Palestine.
“Very soon Saudi Arabs will lose their power,” Syed Ali said.
“Pakistanis are not fighting for Mecca and Medina, they are just protecting kings of Saudi Arabia,” he added.
Aimar Ramia said if the Arab governments loose, then we’ll be able to conclude that all the Arab countries all together can’t push back Iran’s military power in the region
“But, if they win they (would) have killed their own Arab brothers to gain power and this alone will raise a lot of questions in the public opinion; I cannot see any bright future for those who invade Yemen, this must be an act of desperation; poor Arab kings, your end has come,” he added.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for four days now, killing, at least, 60 civilians and injuring hundreds more.
Five Persian Gulf States — Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait — and Egypt that are also assisted by Israel and backed by the US have declared war on Yemen in a joint statement issued earlier Thursday.
US President Barack Obama authorized the provision of logistical and intelligence support to the military operations, National Security Council Spokesperson Bernadette Meehan said late Wednesday night.
She added that while US forces were not taking direct military action in Yemen, Washington was establishing a Joint Planning Cell with Saudi Arabia to coordinate US military and intelligence support.
Riyadh claimed that it has bombed the positions of the Ansarullah fighters and launched attacks against the Sana’a airport and the Dulaimi airbase.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is attacking Ansarullah positions, Saudi warplanes have flattened a number of homes near Sana’a international airport.
