Went to Akbars last night, food ok – nothing spectacular. Was kept waiting ages for both the drinks and food – found the waiting staff a little cocky – he forgot our popadoms, tutted when asked for a jug of tap water (despite having ordered a reasonable number of drinks from the bar) and then commented on how long we had the table. Wasn’t an overly busy night. The fire alarm went off for what seemed an age and on top of that there was an interruption by a man who was filming in the restaurant, not quite my idea of a good meal out. Was reasonably priced and they have all the normal food you would expect to see on an indian menu but a lot more grease then I have seen in other restaurants in the city. Very mediocre (im being generous) but does boast a lovely interior.
