Keshet DCP, the joint venture between Keshet International and Dick Clark Productions, will make Boom! the latest Israeli game show adapted for the U.S. market, the Hollywood Reporter reported on Friday.
On Boom!, contestants try to defuse replica bombs in a battle against the clock by answering trivia questions.
According to Keshet, Boom!’s Thursday night premiere on Channel 2 had the most successful game show launch in Israeli television history.
The U.S. adaption of Boom! marks the first co-development between Keshet International and DC Media since the Keshet DCP banner was established last year.
Keshet DCP is still planning on launching the U.S. adaption of Israeli musical talent show “Rising Star” during the summer of 2014.
Keshet International has sold the Rising Star format to producers in France, Russia, Italy, Germany and Nordic countries. They hope to find similar luck next week at the MIPTV in Cannes, where Boom! will be pitched to international buyers.
