World Council of Churches condemns Zionist occupation

“We are opposed to the occupation, not Israel,” the General Secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC) stated, explaining “The WCC supports the Palestinians, because they are in the right.”

The General Secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC), Olav Fyske Tveit, said “We support the Palestinians. The WCC supports the Palestinians, because they are in the right.”
WCC General Secretary Tveit met with a delegation at the English Coptic, associated with Anglican Church, in the Egyptian capital of Cairo. During the meeting, Tveit stated: “We reject the Zionist claim that the Palestinian territories were lands promised to themselves. We call on all neighbors to live together in peace in these lands. There are those accusing as of declaring Israel as an enemy state. We are opposed to the occupation, not Israel. We support peace between Israel and Palestine.”
Tveit addressed the Arab Spring Tveit by explaining that the countries in which the revolutions occurred were undergoing serious changes took place and that naturally such as situation comes with a set of problems.  He said that it would take some time to return to routine life in these countries.
