Nazi Officer suspended after attacking 10-year-old from the window of a police car in East Jerusalem
Times of Israel
Border Policeman was suspended Monday after security cameras showed him pepper-spraying a 10-year-old Israeli Arab boy in the eyes as he drove past him in East Jerusalem that same day.
The video footage, aired on Channel 2 News, shows the boy, Shihab Siyan, talking to his father before continuing alone up the road. A Border Police vehicle then passes him by, and Siyan falls to the ground.
The boy was taken to a hospital in East Jerusalem, where doctors realized that there was a serious threat to his vision, and then transferred him to Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem for further treatment, the report said.
The boy’s father was quoted as saying that he would press charges against the policeman who attacked his son and lodge a formal complaint with the Police Investigation Unit. However, Border Police had already suspended the officer and handed over details of the case to the internal investigative body.
A Border Police statement acknowledged that the use of pepper spray was unwarranted.
