Three years later, all charges were dropped
He was arrested based on a claim by a stranger who he never met before.
He was jailed and held without bail. He was not given a trial – for three years – and much of that time he was held in solitary confinement.
Despite being offered a plea deal and threatened with 15 years in one of the worst jails in the US he refused to plead guilty.He was denied meals, he was denied educational opportunities.
The judge, the prosecutor, the defense attorney – all were fine with it. Justice in America.
Whats so sad is this isn’t the only case like this. There are stories one in particular where they locked a 52 year man old in solitary confinement without a charge or conviction or ever speaking to a lawyer and they forgot about him.They denied him medical access even though he continually cried out in pain, just basic human rights. He will never recover from the trauma. I hope this kid gets the same, he deserves it after what they put him through. Its Guantanamo bay in The USA
