I don’t believe for a minute that Lavrov’s apology was sincere when he said,“Pardon Us For Our Country’s Existence in the Middle of Your Military Bases.”Just words.The presence of Russian vessels in the Black Sea (under the pretext that it has a littoral at that sea) is a defiant threat to the US and NATO military bases on the Rumanian and Turkish shores.
And now Russia poses a direct threat to Britain, as the British media informs, an aggression planned long ago, which is what the incident with the Latvian plane over British skies showed.
Being Russian made, the Latvian plane was understandably misidentified by the British air traffic controllers as a Russian plane, and thus it was intercepted and forced to land. This was a calculated (Russian-calculated) intent to embarrass Great Britain, since Latvia is a trusted ally.
The Latvian plane was a Russian aircraft sold to Latvia long ago. Why? I don’t believe in coincidences. Long-term planning. Clearly the Russians sold such planes to various countries wanting them — at some point of their convenience in the future — to be confused with Russian planes, sowing confusion and panic, which renders a nation less able to defend itself.
Latvia, and all our other allies that happen to have Russian-made aircraft, should destroy them and, with IMF’s help, equip their air forces with easily identifiable Western aircraft.
But Britain must do a lot more to prepare to defend itself from the upcoming Russian attack.
