Shooting:
During the reporting period, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian worker inside Israel. A Palestinian civilian also died of previous wounds he had sustained in Qalandya refugee camp, north of Jerusalem. Israeli forces also wounded, 12 Palestinian civilians, including 4 children, in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
In the West Bank, 30 November 2013, ‘Anar Shebli Mahmoud al-Aqra’, 24, a Palestinian worker from Qabalan village, southeast of Nablus, was shot dead by an Israeli soldier from a close range inside Israel. Al-‘Aqra’ was killed in Btah Tikva inside Israel when the Israeli police launched a campaign against Palestinian workers who do not have work permits. His body was delivered to his family on Monday, 02 December 2013.
On 29 November 2013, medical sources at Palestine Medical Compound in Ramallah declared that Mahmoud Wajeeh ‘Awad, 23, from Qalandya refugee camp north of Jerusalem, died of wounds he had sustained on 01 March 2013. Following the declaration of ‘Awad’s death, dozens of Palestinian civilians gathered near Qalandya checkpoint. They threw stones at Israeli soldiers positioned at the checkpoint. Israeli soldiers closed the gate of the checkpoint and fired live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets, tear gas canisters and sound bombs at the civilians. As a result, a Palestinian civilian was wounded by a live bullet to the right thigh. Similar clashed took place in the same area on the following day, during which 6 Palestinian civilians, including 2 children, were wounded.
During the reporting period, Israeli forces continued the systematic use of excessive force against peaceful protests organised by Palestinian, Israeli and international activists against the construction of the annexation wall and settlement activities in the West Bank. As a result, 4 Palestinian civilians, including 2 children, were wounded.
In the Gaza Strip, on 29 November 2013, a Palestinian civilian was wounded by Israeli forces near the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel to the east of Jabalya town.
On 02 December 2013, Israeli gunboats stationed in Gaza sea opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats in the northern Gaza Strip. No casualties or damage were reported.
