Mufti congratulates Modi and his party on their outstanding victory and hopes the new government to take steps towards resolving Kashmir issue.
“I hope the new government under the leadership of Modi will take tangible measures to address the causes of alienation and trust deficit in Kashmir and work towards finding long-lasting solution of the problem plaguing the region for the past more than six decades,” he said.
Mufti, the former chief minister of restive Indian-controlled Kashmir is a veteran Indian politician and has served as the first Muslim Home Minister of India in 1989.
