Fierce clashes breakout between YPG and Turkish-backed rebels in northern Aleppo

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:40 P.M.) – A series of intense clashes broke out between the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) this evening in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
According to local reports, the YPG and FSA are currently clashing inside the northern Aleppo town of Kaljibrin, which is located near the Turkish border.

No advances or casualties have been reported as of yet.
Tensions have recently increased in northern Aleppo between the YPG and FSA after the former launched several ambushes against the Turkish-backed rebels in the Afrin region.
The Afrin region was captured by the Turkish-backed Euphrates Shield forces in March of this year after they launched a major operation in January.
