NOVANEWS
The tussle in 2001 between ex-President Sezer and ex-Prime Minister Ecevit, in other words two children of the republic, triggered a political and economic crisis that became the luck of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and of Erdoğan.
Was it only chance? It was a miracle of social engineering. An only 15-month-old party came to the power by taking one third of the votes. The AKP was not a party but it was a “project”.
And engineering continued. To tear down the 1923 Republic (secular First Republic founded by the Kemalists) and to replace it with the construction of an Islamic model compatible with the US interests, the country needed to be funded with foreign capital.
Social Engineering is not too fond of fluctuations. “Increasing size of crowds also means increasing difficulty in controlling them”. For class struggle cannot be manipulated. Class struggle per se is the engine.
In the country there were two important massive dynamics. One of them was the reactionary-Islamist movement, which was already dragged to the power. The supporters of the AKP easily became the customary and state-sponsored fascist movement of Turkey.
The Kurdish movement also needed to become compatible with the system. PKK leader Öcalan’s imprisonment would have to be re-positioned in this framework, but it would take long time. The AKP would not have been able to step forward without purging the supporters of the First Republic in the power bloc. Still way to go… But a long distance was traversed and reached to a point that the Kurdish movement openly supported the AKP’s holding the power.
The potential of workers that always kept the ruling class in Turkey up at nights became extremely rotten throughout the processes influenced by the EU. Privatizations, subcontracting-flexibilization pruned away the organizational abilities of the workers’ movement. The charity system of the newly emerging religious system would give a hand to the poor.
Every person presumes that the other resembles to herself.
The leader and the political party of the project think of this struggle as a design and put it into practice. The leader and the political party of the project do not sense the reality of the opposing dynamics and focus on some conspiracy theories that could allegedly bear those dynamics. The leader and the political party of the project begin to be more and more artificial and finally become a hideous appendage as opposed to an organic part of the society and hence got to be parasitic. This is an engineering deviation that is far away from comprehending some factors, such as real life, society and human.
Remember the confrontation play that was staged two weeks ago in front of cameras in order to undermine the legitimacy of the Taksim resistance (Police was attacked by another group of police, which was in the costume of a leftist group throwing Molotov cocktails)
Remember Erdoğan’s return from Tunisia and his travel to the center of Ankara from the airport together with his “mobile” crowd and his rally attempts every once in a while on the road. Remember how the other rallies (organized by the AKP first in Ankara, then in Istanbul) turned into state-sponsored organizations and they used several tricks to multiply the crowd of the rallies.
Remember how lumpen, ignorant and ugly was what they have done so far in the name ideological struggle, how the grassroots of the AKP expressed their loyalty to the prime minister, how they poured stabbers into streets, how they could not stand the “standing man” (the man that stood in silence for six hours in Taksim to protest the murder of the three young protestors), how they tried to imitate the creative actions of the protestors, i.e. by giving books to the hands of the policemen in Taksim.
And finally the primary school play titled “evacuation of Taksim without tear gas”, which was staged last Saturday. Have you noticed how the police were overwhelmed when the real people forced them to hear their voices and they had to follow the people’s instructions? Other than tear gas and plastic bullets how could have they responded to the chants “Don’t betray the people. Sell pretzel but live in dignity”?
Of course there is always live-streams and reporters… Not only the AKP but also the media was a project. The reporters suppose that if they repeatedly say, “Taksim is getting much calmer in comparison to the previous broadcast… It is completely, perfectly and utterly calm now” the problem will get solved! Yet at that very moment there were 30-40 thousand people in Taksim Square and their way of communication is not fictitious as opposed to that of screens.
TayyipErdoğan, as a product of cutting edge technology, is resisting to the organic processes of the society with the means of social engineering. With the return of the masses to politics the methods of social engineering has run aground. Turkey has thrown up the Second Republic, the reactionary republic of the AKP.
