
Fars News Agency published a report on the volume of Iranian oil exports during the past fiscal year (March 2019 – March 2020) in light of the United States imposing severe sanctions on Iran’s oil exports.
The agency said that Iran exported about 490 thousand barrels of oil a day last year, and obtained revenues of 8.9 billion dollars, as it calculated the average price of a barrel by fifty dollars.
“Fares” was based on the statements of high-ranking government officials, who talked about the decline in Iranian oil exports, where Isaac Jahangiri, the first vice-president of Iran, said last week that Tehran’s oil revenues last year amounted to about eight billion dollars, while it previously exceeded the hundred mark. During a meeting in Parliament this month, which discussed the economic situation in the country, Central Bank Governor Eid Al-Nasir Hemati said that Iran’s oil revenues in 2010, that is, during the era of former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, amounted to $ 107 billion, while last year it contracted to less than 20 % Of this level.
The agency added that the Iranian government faced a large budget deficit last year, and that it achieved only 30% of the oil revenues stipulated in the budget.
