Christof Lehmann (nsnbc),- A Cyber Attack against websites in the Democratic Peoples´Republic Korea and the purported statement from the internationally known Hacktivist group has provoked resounding and side-splitting laughter in Pyongyang and among Koreans in both the North and the South of the divided country.
The DPRK´s official news agency KCNA published an article, in which it explained that recent cyber attacks purportedly had been committed by the internationally renown hacker group Anonymous and called the propaganda which was related with the cyber attacks “a string of rubbish”.
The Hacktivist group was close to having earned some form or respect by attacking for example, Israeli government websites, criticizing the Israeli government for the illegal occupation of Palestine, for apartheid and war crimes. At least that makes some sort of sense, but apparently Anonymous had engaged in an “operation to infiltrate the interior of the north” and justified the assault with what the KCNA article describes as made-up riff raffs. It could not have said it any better than that.
Apparently not content with the attempt to criticize the social system of the DPRK, the Hacktivist group also had to demonstrate it´s advanced technology, more about that later.
Both the quality of the Hacktivist´s criticism and the demonstration of its advanced tecnological capabilities provoked resounding and side-splitting laughter in Pyongyang and among Koreans in both the Northern and the Southern part of the divided country.
The irony, which had Koreans and me burst into laughter was among other, that Anonymous seemingly had gotten the inspiration for its stern criticism of the DPRK by reading the CIA Country Information and apparently the hacktivists historical background and understanding is based on websites, publications, media, and Hollywood productions which receive support from the United States Department of Defense. – which includes the BBC.
In fact, Anonymous has shown such “Intelligence” by blasting the social and political system of the DPRK, that analysts, the scribe of this article included, conclude that the truth behind this sophisticated, simultaneous cyber – and propaganda attack against the DPRK and websites is this:
Either Anonymous has let itself be infiltrated and is being used by the CIA / DIA or the it was not Anonymous but CI-Anonymous who was behind the cyber attack.
Which ever one of the two most likely scenarios is the truth is in fact irrelevant with regard to understanding why every Korean, in the North as well as South of the divided country, who has just a minuscule of factual knowledge about the United States role in the continued division of the nation, the continued suffering of Koreans, and the US – American propaganda against the DPRK which would have put a Göbbels and Leni Riefenstahl to shame if they were still alive have burst out in laughter.
There is a third possibility however. Maybe Anonymous was infiltrated by CI-Anonymous, incited to commit the demonstration of its members brilliance in political, historical and technical dilettantism. In that case the CIA / DIA has successfully discredited Anonymous among peace and human rights advocates, as well as anti-imperialists worldwide. In that case one might ask “who has been hacked ?
About the highly technological feat of CI-Anonymous – It hacked into open servers. Non of the servers contained any secret or classified data and according to experts in Pyongyang it apparently used poor hacking programs. Poor, poor CI-Anonymous, what a high-technological feat. Now what is next, hacking newspapers who are critical of your questionable achievement ? Brave revolutionary who are hiding their sticky fingers behind a screen, a Slease-Burger, and a Gut Fawkes mask ? Last time that I read my history – the real one – Guy Fawkes was a double agent – a stooge – useful idiot.
KCNA rightfully asks whether Anonymous is really a hacker group or if it is working as a servant for political masters to carry out ideological, political, military and sociological operations on their behalves. Latest since Anonymous improved Korean´s health my giving hem something to laugh about, this question must be considered as being justified.
The question is, whether CI-Anonymous ever would attack neo-colonialist and pro-imperialist websites such as the South Korean Chosung Ilbo and Choongang Ilbo. Most probably one would have to hack into one of the computers at Langley to get a qualified and authoritative answer.
IF this really was You Guys and Girls, you just lost a lot of my respect. How shall we take you serious if your education about historical facts comes straight from the CIA´s country information website and DoD Funded Propaganda outlets. IF this really was you, and you want to regain my respect, why don´t you do a decent job by finding out who remote controlled the Mercedes C25 of Michael Hastings, or who was behind 9/11, find out who took part in planning the Arab Spring, years before the first protests – and other real issues of concern for civil liberties, justice, freedom of the press, international justice and war crimes.
