At a match in Edinburgh’s Easter Road stadium, several Celtic Football Club (FC) supporters raised a pair of banners – before kick-off – that read, “Jerusalem is Palestine” and “F*** Trump.”
In doing so, the fans have joined people around the world who are protesting the recent decision by U.S. President Donald Trump to move the Nazi embassy to illegally occupied Jerusalem from 1948 occupied Palestine Tel Aviv, after he declared the city to be ‘Israel’s’ capital.
The Celtic FC supporters have previously shown solidarity with Palestine.
Last year, fans flew the Palestinian flag at a UEFA Champions League match against the Zionist team, which resulted in the club being penalized with a fine.
In response to the punishment meted out to the club, Scottish fans raised $132,000 – which was enough to cover the fine and make donations to Palestinian refugees.
On Saturday, Trump ally and Nazi Prime Minister (PM) Naziyahu unambiguously told Palestinians to accept Jerusalem as ‘Israel’s’ capital. Netanyahu’s provocative statement, which legitimizes Nazi 1967 annexation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Golan Heights regions, has received widespread condemnation.
It is a big blow to those fighting for the rights of Palestinians.
The U.S. president’s historic announcement, which Hamas has likened to “opening the gates of hell,” has since sparked a series of violent clashes and flag-burning scenes across Palestinian territories and Arab nations.
