NOVANEWS
ON THIS DAY IN MUSLIM HISTORY: At 4.30 am on Friday 9 April 1948, members of the Zionist terror gang known as the Irgun surrounded Deir Yassin and embarked on an orgy of killing and looting that lasted 2 days. Men, women and children were butchered and women were also raped.
They remember the holocaust and 9-11, well let us remember our dead. Unustly killed for nothing more than being Muslim. We should never forget the massacre of our brothers and sisters. We are not the terrorists, we are the biggest victims of terrorism.
FULL ACCOUNT:
Today marks the 66th anniversary of the catastrophic massacre at the village of Deir Yassin. This was the most infamous of all the massacres carried out by Zionist terrorists in the history of Palestine. This massacre became a symbol of Zionist aggression against the Palestinians, as well as an example of Zionist treachery.
The Mukhtar (Head) of the village had agreed with the Zionists beforehand to provide information on the movement of strangers in the area along with other intelligence on condition that his village was spared. The Zionists didn’t keep their word.
At 4:30 am on Friday 9th April 1948, members of the Zionist terror gang known as the Irgun surrounded Deir Yassin and embarked on an orgy of killing and looting that lasted two days. Men, women and children were butchered and women were also raped.
A chilling account of the massacre was given by a Red Cross doctor who arrived at the village and saw for himself what one of the terrorists called “the mopping up”. His report says that the “mopping up” had been done with machine guns, grenades and victims were finished off with knives. Women’s bellies were cut open and babies were butchered in the hands of their helpless mothers.
Around 250 people were murdered in cold blood. Of these, 25 were pregnant women who were bayoneted in the abdomen while still alive. Fifty-two children were maimed under the eyes of their own mothers, before being slain and having their heads cut off. The Jewish Agency and the commander of the British ground troops were aware the massacre was taking place, but no one attempted to intervene.
News of the massacre was circulated far and wide and also greatly exaggerated at the time, to frighten other Palestinians. The Zionist trickery worked and thousands of Palestinians began to flee for their lives, leaving their homes and belongings behind – never to return.
In his book The Revolt, Menachem Begin, one of the Irgun members and a terrorist wanted by the British government, (who later became the Prime Minister of Israel) wrote: “Without what was done at Deir Yassin there would not have been a State of Israel…While the Haganah was carrying out successful attacks on the other fronts… The Arabs began fleeing in panic, shouting ‘Deir Yassin’.”
We must never forget the victims and events of the Deir Yassin massacre. What happened at Deir Yassin has effectively become the template for Israeli policies since. The brutal and inhumane treatment of the Palestinian people designed specifically to break the will of the Palestinian people has been carried out by the Israelis. However, the Palestinian people remain resolute despite the daily misery inflicted upon them by the Israelis. An important part of this defiance is to remember events such as Deir Yassin as a reminder of the bloody and racist foundations upon which the Israeli state was created.
