Bezalel Smotrich: Israel’s outrageous man of the year

Dear Editor,

Bezalel Smotrich is a right-wing extremist and Israeli

finance minister who deserves to be nominated for

Israel’s outrageous Man of the Year for his bizarre and

obnoxious behavior.

The US government has granted a visa to him over

the objection of Jewish-American leaders who said

he should be barred from the country for his call to

“wipe out” the Palestinian town of Huwara.

It is rather bizarre that this man even described himself

 as a “fascist homophobe.”

More than 100 Jewish American leaders signed a

statement opposing his US visit and comparing him

to the American-born Israeli rabbi and convicted terrorist

Meir Kahane, who founded the racist political party Kach.

During his recent speech in Paris, he displayed a map

showing Jordan as part of “Greater Israel” during which he

also stated that “the Palestinian people are an invention

that is less than 100 years old.”
